BIO
Diane Kraynak is an award- winning author and nurse.
She began her healthcare career in art therapy but switched to nursing to have more hands-on care with patients. Ever the artist, she turned to writing to examine the emotions of what it means to be a nurse.
She has participated in the Kenyon Review Summer Writer's Workshop, Wesleyan Writer's Conference and The Iowa Summer Writing Festival.
She draws her inspiration from Jo Ann Beard, Tim O'Brien, Grace Paley, Ann Patchett, and Sister Helen Prejean.
Diane continues to work as a pediatric nurse practitioner. When not in the hospital or writing, you can find Diane with her family or in her backyard, trying to grow sunflowers and wondering if it's too late to be a rodeo queen.
